Award-winning, international filmmaker NHNZ has enthralled millions of viewers for more than three decades with their documentaries. In collaboration with TVNZ, NHNZ now makes their highly acclaimed 'Wild South' programmes available on DVD for the very first time.

i. MASTERS OF INNER SPACE (1992)
Fish are perfectly evolved, by more than 400 million years of evolution, to be the most mobile and adaptable life forms in the ocean. Wade Doak takes us on a journey to the inner space of the ocean depths to explore their superb design features.

ii. GULL CITY (1992)
Gull City appears to be a huge disorganised group of birds. In the various suburbs of the city, dapper little red-billed gulls - our most common "seagull" - noisily mate and breed in orderly fashion, while rape and pillage take place all around them.

iii. WANTED ALIVE (1992)
The early Polynesian and European settlers of New Zealand have left the wildlife of New Zealand in complete disarray. The critically endangered kakapos, takahes, saddlebacks, kokakos, giant wekas, and tuataras are currently the subject of different management techniques aimed at ensuring their survival, in an attempt to save our natural heritage before it is too late.

iv. WILD HORSE WILD COUNTRY (1995)
The Kaimanawa ranges in the central North Island have been home to one of the few remaining horse herds in the world that have never been managed by man. But the horses are devastating a unique landscape containing tiny rare plants which are millions of years old. This documentary examines the battle between conservationists and horse lovers, and their conflicting conservation values.
