Potent and passionate, Sudanese music is hugely popular throughout east Africa and the Arab States but until recently had very little exposure in Europe. The balanced was redressed in 1986 when three of Sudan's biggest musical stars visited the UK leaving behind them a clutch of sublime recordings, the highlights of which are captured on 'Sounds Of Sudan'. Recorded with an intimate small-group set up, this is a rare opportunity to hear these three exceptional musicians on a high quality recording.
