Human are a four piece-metal/grindcore group from Christchurch, who can lay claim to being one of the longest serving and active metal bands in New Zealand music history.
Human are a four-piece metal/grindcore band from Christchurch, New Zealand. Formed in March 1992 they can lay claim to being not only the first band in the world to call themselves 'Human' (imitators beware) but also to being one of the longest serving and active metal bands in New Zealand music history.
The band, comprised of Scott Spatcher-Harrison, Vaughn Richardson, Kezz Brewster, and Nikolas Kissel, have released several demo tapes, singles, music videos and released 2 full length albums. Now they offer their third album, entitled "Cadaver Academy"
Work commenced on the album back in early 2008 until a line up change within the group brought about the idea of scrapping all of the recorded work and re-doing it with the new lineup. The result is an album containing 12 tracks of original grind, peppered with the usual insane lyrical ranting and frantic riffery Human has become known for. Production-wise, 'Cadaver Academy' is a step ahead of the previous album 'Blood Bucket' - recorded almost entirely by the bands rhythm guitarist Kezz Brewster. The tracks "We Come In Pieces" and "Blasting Through The Foreheads Of The Dead" represent the bands ability to not only hold back and play tight rhythmic chug metal, but also to take the element of speed and completely throw the rule book out the window.
