Tami Neilson was raised in Canada in a house where amplifiers and guitar cases were just as much a part of the furniture as chairs and tables. When most kids are still singing nursery rhymes in the bathtub, she was travelling across North America performing professionally in their family band The Neilsons sharing the stage with the likes of Johnny Cash.
After headlining the Canadian Invasion Tour, she released of her debut solo album, 'Red Dirt Angel', which went on to win "Best Country Album" at the 2009 NZ Music Awards. Now Tami is back with her second CD - 'The Kitchen Table Sessions'.
This album is a collection of Neilson originals, alongside some very famous covers such as "Slice of Heaven", "I Fall to Pieces", and "Salty Dog" - all given the Tami treatment!
Tami says, "While sitting around my brother's kitchen table, various Neilsons dropped in, playing instruments, stomping their feet, singing along to old songs, writing new ones, knitting, cooking, laughing and reminiscing."
