Released in 1974, 'Sweet Exorcist' and 'Got to Find a Way' both made the Billboard national album chart and yielded hit singles...

Curtis Mayfield is one of the most important and highly regarded names in soul and funk music. The solo albums he recorded between 1970 up until the time of his tragic accident in 1990 and which were released on his own record label, Curtom Records, remain as testament to his genius. Two of these make up this single cd release.

Released in 1974, 'Sweet Exorcist' and 'Got to Find a Way' both made the Billboard national album chart and yielded hit singles.

Sweet Exorcist spent twenty-two weeks in the national album chart as well as making the top five in the R&B album chart. The dance-orientated Kung Fu, gave Curtis his biggest hit single in nearly two years. Sweet Exorcist was was its follow up chart single.

Most of the songs on Got To Find A Way were in Mayfield's romantic vein, yet he still found room for some searing attacks on American injustice and hypocrisy in 'Cannot Find A Way'. 'Love Me (Right In the Pocket)', was an extensive, seven minute re-write of another 1971 hit by The Impressions which appeared in edited form as the flipside of the hit single taken from the album, 'Mother's Son'.
