Inspired by the Edgar Allen Poe short story 'The Devil in the Belfry' the fifth studio album from BRMC is gaining favourable comparison with the best of the band's back catalogue.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club bring us their fifth studio album, 'Beat the Devil's Tattoo'. This release signifies the band's first full-length on their own Abstract Dragon label, in partnership with Cooperative Music Group.
The band wrote and recorded most of the album at The Basement Studio in Philadelphia, PA (the same room where they wrote and recorded 'Howl') as well as some work in their hometown Los Angeles.
'Beat the Devil's Tattoo' also marks the first album with new drummer Leah Shapiro. 2009's 'Live' CD/DVD certainly revived interest in this ever-popular group and the lead single and title track from this album (which was inspired by the Edgar Allen Poe short story 'The Devil in the Belfry') is gaining favourable comparison with the best of the band's back catalogue.
