The Grammy-nominated blues harp legend's first new studio release in four years is a masterful return to his deep blues roots by one of the best known artists in the genre.

After a series of Americana-oriented releases, 'The Well' brings Charlie Musselwhite back to the foot-stomping blues of his heyday, with 13 gritty Musselwhite originals driven by his haunting vocals and fiery, graceful harmonica playing. Two tracks feature Charlie on guitar, and Mavis Staples guests on the gospel-ized blues "Sad And Beautiful World." Charlie's hand-picked band for the album includes Dave Gonzales (Paladins, Stone River Boys) on guitar, John Bazz (Blasters) on bass and Stephen Hodges (Tom Waits, Mavis Staples) on drums. Produced by Chris Goldsmith (Ruthie Foster, Grammy-winning Blind Boys Of Alabama).
