An excellent collection which compiles live tracks from 1996 and captures Soundgarden at the height of their recording and touring career.
Titled 'Live on I-5' - a reference to the Interstate 5 which runs up and down the West Coast - this "in concert" collection compiles live tracks from a 1996 run by Soundgarden and captures the band at the height of their recording and touring career.
This carefully selected compilation includes fan favorites like "Spoonman", "Rusty Cage", "Burden in My Hand" and "Black Hole Sun" (performed by Chris Cornell solo), as well what insiders are calling the definitive concert performance of "Jesus Christ Pose". As a bonus, 'Live on I-5' includes two brilliantly inspired covers: The Beatles' "Helter Skelter" and The Stooges' anarchic proto-punk classic, "Search and Destroy."
Soundgarden always intended to release this as a live record soon after the tour, but they disbanded and the tapes were left in the closet to gather dust until after the group's 2010 reformation (after being away for some 13 odd years).
With 'Live on I-5', we catch the now-legendary rock titans at the top of their game - showing why their appeal is as strong and as timeless as ever.
