The most popular recorder works used to be published in the newspaper: in 1728 Georg Philipp Telemann founded Der getreue Music-Meister primarily to divulge his own works. It is thus hardly surprising that Telemann's recorder sonatas today enjoy performance figures in the millions. The selection by Heiko ter Schegget and Zvi Meniker even includes some discoveries.
