Best known for his infamous 1975 attack on the OPEC headquarters in Vienna, where he took more than 60 people - including the Oil Ministers of many member nations - hostage, Carlos managed to weave his way into the complexities of international politics with his attacks in Europe and the Middle East throughout the '70s and '80s

Spanning 20 years, Assayas' exciting, sexy, and globe-spanning portrait of the notorious international terrorist mastermind, 'Carlos the Jackal' electrified audiences at its premiere at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, and earned star Édgar Ramírez a Golden Globe nomination.
