A powerfully intimate collection of songs about love, loss and hope - Lydia Cole's debut full-length record, 'Me & Moon'.
Out of the darkness, the brightest stars shine; out of the fire, the purest gold.
Lydia Cole spent the last 18 months in hibernation, where she turned to her allies - music, art and time - for healing. The outcome is a powerfully intimate collection of songs about love, loss and hope - Lydia's debut full-length record, 'Me & Moon'.
Lydia partnered once again with trusted producer Nic Manders in the creative sanctuary of Roundhead Studios. It was in the quiet here that the songs found their voice, with help from instrumentalists Jono Wilson (Seth Haapu, Geneva) and Jol Mulholland (Mulholland, The Mots).
'Me & Moon' is both personally and musically a huge leap ahead of Lydia's 2009 EP "Love Will Find A Way". A beautiful offering, the album includes artwork and songs from Lydia's own hands and heart. The record's first single is Blind Boy, a bold step for the shy folkster that show greater lyrical confidence and personal strength, gained through the lessons learned from heartbreak. Written and recorded within a few days at the end of the project, Blind Boy is a revelation of strength and determination.
While the future remains a mystery, this young songstress looks ahead to the kinds of adventures and experiences that have shaped her music to date, eagerly awaiting the next step… whether taken in darkness, or the bright light of day.
