Soulfly's eighth studio effort introduces some new and unexpected elements into the mix, including a guest violinist, as well as collaborations with two metal veterans: Dez Fafara of Devildriver and Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation.
While many bands barely make it to a third album, the Max Cavalera-led collective, Soulfly, is still going strong two decades deep with their eighth disc, 'Enslaved'. On it the quartet introduces some new and unexpected elements into the mix, including a guest violinist, as well as collaborations with two metal veterans: Dez Fafara of Devildriver and Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation. Max also partners with his three sons on "Revengeance", the song he wrote about his slain stepson Dana.
The powerhouse line-up for this release features Max and guitar dynamo Marc Rizzo, Static-X's Tony Campos on bass and the group's brutal new drummer, David Kinkade. 'Enslaved' was recorded at Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona and was produced by Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, The Red Chord). Max also shared production duties.
