Palma Violets are an English band from Lambeth, London. The band formed in 2011, based on the musical partnership of frontmen Sam Fryer and Chilli Jesson.
Much like Arctic Monkeys, the band gained a substantial fan base online before the release of their first single - with multiple live videos of their gigs being uploaded by fans. The band are signed to Rough Trade Records. Palma Violets have been compared to The Libertines by areas of the media, with their frontmen, Chilli Jesson and Sam Fryer, having a similar onstage relationship to Pete Doherty and Carl Barât
Palma Violets present their debut record, named after the number of the Lambeth house that the four-piece have become known for regularly throwing parties and impromptu gigs for friends and fans in. The album artwork, features the band standing outside the building.
'180' was recorded in London at RAK Studios, produced by Pulp's Steve Mackey, and also at The Lightship Studios, produced by Rory Attwell.
