Alongside Jamaican compatriot Bob Marley, Toots (Hibbert) and the Maytals were instrumental in popularising Reggae music. In fact their song Do The Reggay, included here, was the first song to use the word "reggae" coining the name of the genre and introducing it to a global audience. Toots Hibbert's vocal style often drew comparisons to US soul star Otis Redding and with the hits featured on this compilation it's easy to hear why.
