The Return of the Space Cowboy is the second album by British funk/acid jazz band Jamiroquai. The album was released on 17 October 1994 in the United Kingdom under Sony Soho Square and on 9 May 1995 under Work Group in the United States. The album is characterised by its complex songwriting as a result of Kay's creative block mid-production. Its lyrics also addressed personal and socially charged matters.
Critical reviews of the album were generally positive and it ranked at number 2 in the UK. It was certified platinum in that country with 1,300,000 copies sold worldwide.
