Recorded in New York on 2 March and 22 April 1959, Kind Of Blue was released that same August. Featuring his sextet, which comprised Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly on piano, Paul Chambers (bass), saxophonists John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley and drummer Jimmy Cobb, Kind Of Blue would go on to become one of the best selling jazz albums of all time. In the US, sales over the next fifty years would top the 4 million mark, whilst in the UK it earned gold status.
