Crediting this album to Ike and Tina Turner is something of a misnomer, since Tina doesn't sing on the album at all (although she may have been in the studio and contributed to the percussion), but since the group had recently broken out as Ike & Tina Turner it would have appeared to make sense to Ike and Sue Records to release this as a group credit. In fact, the album is effectively Ike & His Kings Of Rhythm belting out twelve instrumentals, with Ike's guitar well to the fore. Even the track with which Ike & Tina enjoyed their major hit, It's Gonna Work Out Fine, is redone as an instrumental. Yet don't feel short-changed by the lack of Tina Turner; marvel at the guitar abilities of her husband Ike.
