Released at the end of 1979, Setting Sons reached number four in the U.K. and was their first charting album in the U.S. It defines, for many, the classic 'Jam sound'.
It was loosely conceived as a 'concept' album, with a distinct link between key songs - Thick As Thieves, Wasteland, Burning Sky and Little Boy Soldiers where the band branched out into a more experimental style.
Includes the live favourite - a storming version of the Motown classic Heatwave, and hit singles - The Eton Rifles (one of David Cameron's favourites) and Bruce Foxton's tour-de-force Smithers-Jones.
Side One:
Girl On The Phone
Thick As Thieves
Private Hell
Little Boy Soldiers
Wasteland
Side Two:
Burning Sky
Smithers-Jones
Saturday's Kids

Heat Wave
