Save My Soul

It's been 3 years since London based Kiwi Jayson Norris released his sophomore album Freedom Twenty Eight and after tirelessly touring the LP, the long awaited follow up is almost here.

Jayson's latest offering Save My Soul is a diverse 5 track EP produced and recorded by Kiwi Dub king Tiki Taane at his Woodhill studios in December 2013, and as anticipated, is well worth the wait.

The 5 track EP takes the listener on a musical voyage through both the emotions and the soul. Producer Tiki Taane's open mind and ability to challenge the norm has really brought the best out of Jayson, expanding his creativity and delving into multiple genres; from the rock element present in the track "27" - written about the infamous 27 club, to the acoustic pop sounds of summer in "All I Need" and into the very heartfelt ballad "Closer To You".

A must listen track "Waterfall" contains a whole new music genre, dubbed "Blues Step" which was created during the recording process. The opening track and first single "Save My Soul" is a roots reggae track which was born on the road during the pair's recent sell out New Zealand tour and features Tiki and the soulful sounds of Cocoa Jackson Lane. Throughout the recordings still captured Jayson's distinctive and enchanting trademark Pacific Soul sound - laid-back, smooth soulful roots-rock, all delivered via his rich earthy tones and masterful rhythmic guitar playing.
