The "Dick Van Dyke Show" centres around the life of Rob Petrie, a New York Comedy writer who lives in Suburban new Rochelle with his wife Laura and son Ritchie, plus a pair of zany next door neighbours, Jerry and Millie Helper. Rob is the head of the fictitious "Alan Brady Show", and creates funny scripts with fellow writers Buddy and Sally. The team is under the constant scrutiny of Mel Cooley, the balding, sarcastic producer of the show, and the target of Buddy's jokes. One of the most popular variety comedy television shows of all time, wining 15 Emmy awards in its run and ongoing generations of loyal fans.
