This set is a tribute to the Orchestral Suite (Ouvertüren), a major genre during the German Baroque era. It assembles works from Johann Bernhard and Johann Ludwig Bach - much admired by their cousin Johann Sebastian Bach - and Zelenka, Fash and Telemann, all of whom gave remarkable contributions to this form with beautiful melodies, rhythmic energy and fine contrapuntal artistry. The CD2 has been unavailable for more than ten years and will be enthusiastically received by music lovers.
