Nathan Fake and Wesley Matsell, who have both released on James Holden's Border Community, have struck out on their own and created their label Cambria Instruments. After their split debut EP last year, Nathan Fake steps up solo for the label's second release. Using a millennium-era copy of Cubase 5 and a Roland SH-09, the ideas that emerge on Glaive EP are more abstract, more immersive than his previous work: 'Fortune Bru' follows an oscillating pattern, clutching subs and echoing rhythms. 'Nuuk' is centred around an equally pulsing, yet scratchier techno beat that resonates in the dream-like floating synth chords, evincing Fake's signature style. - Bleep
