Penelope Keith (The Good Life, To The Manor Born) and William Gaunt (The Champions) are reluctant grandparents in all three series of the popular BBC '90s sitcom NEXT OF KIN.
Maggie and Andrew have spent all their lives doing exactly as they want, pleasing no-one but themselves. They have a plan for retirement, the good life, a house in France, excellent food and wine with the occasional company of a few select friends. But fate steps in.
Their estranged son and his politically correct wife have died in a car crash, leaving Maggie and Andrew as the only next of kin to their three brattish grandchildren - one a vegetarian, one who only eats spam and one who won't eat anything. As the days turn into months, it begins to dawn on Maggie and Andrew that their plans are well and truly scuppered. The three horrors - and their numerous and varied pets - are here to stay...
NEXT OF KIN provided a change of character for British comedy favourite Penelope Keith but that didn't stop audiences enjoying the dark but genuinely funny humour, making it another hit series for the acclaimed actress. This four disc set collects all 22 episodes from Series 1, 2 and 3 for the first time on DVD including the 1995 Christmas Special.
