Basses Loaded features six different bass players! Including Steve McDonald, from the legendary Los Angeles glam punk band Redd Kross and OFF!, old friend Krist Novoselic, from Nirvana , Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers),Trevor Dunn (Mr Bungle/Fantomas), Jared Warren (Big Business) and Dale Crover.
According to King Buzzo, "More is more! As hard as it might be to believe, all of these bass players contribute something of their own to Basses Loaded which gives the whole album a good kick right in its big fat ass."
The title is a play on the baseball term, but also the fact that there are 6 (six) different bass players on the album. Melvins are one of the flagship artists for Ipecac, selling hundreds of thousands worldwide, and this is their first new studio album since the Dec 2014 release of 'Hold It In'.
