Life Is Beautiful If You Let It

Florence Joelle, Paris-born, London-based singer-songwriter returns with her third offering: Life is Beautiful.

Recorded straight to tape on analogue equipment and mixed in mono at Gizzard Recording Studios, the album exudes warmth and authenticity. Florence recalls that legendary jazz singer Jimmy Scott used to tell her "Life is Beautiful, if you let it" She wrote those words down and kept them for years to remind herself. After he died in 2014 she wrote the song "Life is Beautiful" in honour of his memory.

Although many of these tracks sound like jazzy classics, 7/10 are Joelle originals. The other three are covers including George Ulmer's "Si Tu Savais", Paul Misraki & Jean Feline's "Chez Moi" and the classic "Johnny Tu N'es Pas Un Ange" - all of them sung in her native French.
