Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of the classic 1971 album by COLOSSEUM, "Colosseum Live". Originally released in June 1971 as double LP set housed in a sleeve designed by Marcus Keef, "Colosseum Live" spent six weeks on the UK album chart, peaking at number 17.

The album featured the "classic" Colosseum line-up of Jon Hiseman (Drums), Dave Greenslade (organ & vibes), Dick Heckstall-Smith (Saxophones), Dave "Clem" Clempson (Guitar, Vocals), Chris Farlowe (Vocals) and Mark Clarke (bass). Recorded at concerts in Manchester and Brighton in March 1971, the album showcased the band at the peak of their powers on stage. "Colosseum Live" would also be the final album of the 1970s by the group. Four decades on, "Colosseum Live" remains one of the band's seminal releases, a fine combination of rock, jazz and blues.

This newly re-mastered and expanded reissue includes an extra CD of material recorded in Brighton, Manchester and Bristol in March 1971 (including a live version of their classic "Valentyne Suite"). It also features a booklet that fully restores the original album artwork and features a new essay.
