Inner Space/Outer Space - a remix of the whole of the Membranes acclaimed 'Dark Matter/Dark Energy' album!
Post-punk noise merchants the Membranes were one of the most powerful and polarizing British bands of the '80s and '90s. Their music was deliberately abrasive and forceful, full of jagged shards of guitar, deep slabs of bass, and crashing drums with a soupçon of electronic noise laid over the top as the group barked out lyrics about the chaotic state of the world around them. In 2015 the Membranes released their first album for 26 years - the critically acclaimed Dark Matter/Dark Energy double album.
Inner Space/Outer Space features reworks and remixes from the Manic Street Preachers, Mark Lanegan, Godflesh, and many more. While including some grand names of European alternative music, there is also a remix by the fairly unknown Iranian post-metal band Barfak.
