What can we say about Judy Garland that is not already known? A career that started at the age of 2 in Vaudeville performing with her Vaudevillian parents and two sisters with whom she went on to perform as the Gumm Sisters, later known as the Garland Sisters. A huge "child" star becoming forever remembered as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and later an even bigger screen star as both singer and fine actress in such films as "Meet Me in St. Louis", "The Pirate", "The Harvey Girls", "Easter Parade" and "A Star Is Born". And we haven't even started on her spectacular stage career! Here, however, we focus on the singing Judy as we feature a collection of some of her finest early recordings, which we have noticed are becoming harder to find these days! Our selection begins with the Columbia records soundtrack to Judy's Oscar nominated film "A Star Is Born" from 1954 and is followed by her next three studios albums recorded for Capitol Records between 1955-57.
