Les Hommes De L'ombre (The Shadow Men) Season 2

Continuing from Season One, the naked trading in French politics to hold onto power is exposed with
searing accuracy.

It is a year since Anne Visage lost the presidential elections, and the current President, Alain Marjorie,faces two disasters: one personal and one political. His delicate and unpredictable wife, Elisabeth, has a car accident. The passenger, her lover, is killed instantly. Benoit Hussan, the Prime Minister and a friend of the couple covers up the accident, but he is then himself caught up in a political and financial scandal. Hussan has to resign.

We now have a political crisis and the President Marjorie calls on the services of Simon Kapita, man in the shadows from the first season. Kapita has not only to deal with the media but also to divert the manoeuvers by the opposition to destabilize the government. His sense of strategy and communication are put to the test, especially as a new scandal threatens to erupt.

Once again, the storylines in Les Hommes De L'ombre are exceptionally well managed, with a vibrant screenplay and brilliant performances by the actors, notably Carole Bouquet in the role of Elisabeth
