With this disc, Jon Manasse, who joins forces once again with pianist Jon Nakamatsu and ex Tokyo String Quartet cellist Clive Greensmith, completes his survey of Brahms's chamber works. The clarinet takes centre stage in this programme of chamber works ranging from Beethoven's youthful Trio B flat major Op.11 (composed 1797 Vienna) via Weber's dazzling showpiece Grand Duo Op.48 for clarinet & piano to Brahms' autumnal Trio A minor Op. 114 (1891), written for Richard Mühlfeld.

"American clarinettist Jon Manasse and his partners delight in the extroversion of the young Beethoven, bringing an almost giddy enthusiasm to what is one of the composer's jolliest works. And the virtuosic showmanship of the Weber duo is totally up their street as well." Irish Times

"This is altogether a most enjoyable disc, beautifully played and recorded, with the three players joining together to make a perfect ensemble." Gramophone

"Manasse brings a soulful, autumnal quality to the second movement, with utterly gorgeous playing…if the couplings appeal, you should find this a rewarding disc, worthy of your attention." International Record Review
