Conductor Christoph Eschenbach has always promoted the careers of young talented musicians in addition to his own, as was the case with the German-Korean pianist Christopher Park at the outset of his successful career. In one of those rare occurrences, both artists came together for a concert performance with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester in 2014. Christopher Park was the winner of the Leonard Bernstein Award at the Stiftung Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in 2014. The event is documented on this album and complemented by two solo piano works performed by Park that reveal his undoubted virtuosity and distinct musicality.
Liszt: Wanderer Fantasy, S. 366 (After Schubert's Op. 15)
Schubert: Piano Sonata No. 13 in A major, D664
Brahms: Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24
