"Summer Music" is a flute and guitar recital spanning three centuries of music performed by flutist Deborah Carter and composer/guitarist Allen Krantz. In addition to the premiere recordings of Krantz's lyrically American "Summer Music" and his elegiac "Intermezzo", the recording has original music for flute and guitar by early 19th century Italian masters Ferdinand Carulli (Serenade in Cma) and Mauro Giuliani (selections from op. 74). Also featured are Handel's Emi Halle Sonata no. 2, Maria Theresia von Paradies' Sicilienne as well as transcriptions of Debussy (Reverie), Poulenc (Mouvements Perpetuels), and Bartók (Roumanian Folk Dances).
