Sparkle is a contemporary comedy about life, love and relationships in the twenty first century, from the directors of Lawless Heart.
Sam is a charming, young schemer who has a chance meeting with Vince (Bob Hoskins) who gives him the opportunity to move to London. Through Vince, he gets a job as a waiter and uses it to meet Sheila (Stockard Channing), a powerful woman who runs a PR company. Sam spots his chance they start sleeping together, and she gives him a job. However life gets complicated when Sam meets a young woman, Kate (Amanda Ryan), and falls for her. He finds that all his ambitions have been ambushed by love.

In her feature film debut, "American Idol" sensation Jordin Sparks stars as Sparkle, a young woman whose big dreams seem almost impossible. She's been warned against the pitfalls of the music industry by her protective mother (Whitney Houston), yet encouraged by the handsome and ambitious Stix (Derek Luke), Sparkle forms a trio with her sisters (Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo). Together, they perform the soul-stirring songs that Sparkle pens. But as their fame grows, so does the risk of jealousy, self-doubt and insidious temptation.
