Helbig: Requiem A

Dresden-based composer and producer Sven Helbig creates Requiem A to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, honouring the victims of war and sending a profound plea for peace. The world premiere took place on 9 February 2025, in Dresden's Kreuzkirche, performed by the Dresden Kreuzchor, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and celebrated bass-baritone René Pape. The recording is released by Deutsche Grammophon. With further performances in Coventry and beyond, this poignant work seeks to serve as a universal message of remembrance, reconciliation, and cultural exchange.
