Celebrated Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki returns to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a decade after he devoted his Deutsche Grammophon debut to the composer's oeuvre ("beautiful Mozart playing, direct, unmannered and fresh" - The New York Times). Marking the 270th anniversary of Mozart's birth, Lisiecki's new recording presents a contrasting but complementary pair of works in E flat major, Concertos Nos. 9 and 22. Two "singular masterpieces", even among Mozart's many superlatives in the genre. "Recording these works was a dream of mine," says Lisiecki, "and I'm very glad to have been able to do so with a dream team too. Joining the pianist are conductor Manfred Honeck and the players of the Bamberger Symphoniker, who share Lisiecki's affinity and respect for Mozart and together convey "the phrasing, the elegance, the beauty" of these works. "Engaging with the genius of Mozart's music is a true privilege. It is characterized by purity, elegance, emotional depth, intellectual challenge, and profound rewards," says the pianist.
