Rudolf Serkin, pianist (1903--91), was born in Bohemia, made his debut at 12, established a celebrated international performing career, was Professor (from 1939) and Director (1968--76) of the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, and was the leading light of the Marlboro Festival. (Wiki)
