Koberidze / Winterauer: Telematic

The album TELEMATIC by Giorgi Koberidze (Tbilisi, Georgia) and Ursula Winterauer (Vienna, Austria), who performs under the moniker Gischt, documents a shared process of listening, researching and responding to specific urban environments. Sound becomes a medium of resonance - between people, places and possible futures.

Both composers sensitively capture the acoustic conditions of Innsbruck and Nantes through field recordings of sounds, noises, social interactions, and cultural connotations. These fragments are layered, arranged, and assembled in the studio to create new sonic architectures that reflect and transform the specific qualities of each location, like an acoustic terroir.

MurMur by Giorgi Koberidze transforms acoustic instrumental sounds through sampling and modulation to create a new composition in which organic and electronic elements merge.

When Dust Settles, composed by Ursula Winterauer, transforms construction site noises and voices into a reflection on impermanence and renewal.
Both pieces make the urban space tangible during its transition, revealing it to be a dynamic fabric of continuous change where atmospheres, movements, and intensities are constantly being reconfigured.

This album originated as an initiative by Openspace from Innsbruck and was shaped through artistic residencies, hosted by Openspace Innsbruck (AT) and Trempo, Nantes (FR) within the framework of the ongoing Creative Europe Project SLASH TRANSITION.
