This 17th volume in the 'Next Generation Mozart Soloists' series marks the conclusion of this collection which, under the inspired and supportive guidance of Howard Griffiths, has enabled dozens of young soloists to record Mozart's concertos with leading orchestras.
A series whose reputation has grown with each release concludes with three piano concertos grouped under Köchel catalogue number 107 and dated 1772: 'Three Sonatas by Mr Giovanni Bach arranged as concertos by W. A. Mozart' and a concerto for three pianos (KV 242), a work commissioned by Countess Maria Antonia Lodron to be performed with her daughters, Maria Aloisia and Maria Josepha.
The soloists on this recording were recommended by András Schiff, a member of the Orpheum Foundation's artistic board.
