Lukas Sternath plays Schubert and Liszt

At the heart of the album are five of Schubert's most beloved songs in Liszt's celebrated piano transcriptions, paired with Schubert's iconic 'Wanderer Fantasy'. Together, these works explore themes of travel, longing and the search for identity, reflecting the emotional and poetic world at the centre of Sternath's artistry. The second disc is devoted to Liszt's 'Années de Pèlerinage - Italie', culminating in the monumental 'Fantasia quasi Sonata: Après une lecture du Dante'. These visionary works highlight Liszt's extraordinary imagination while providing Sternath with a platform to demonstrate both virtuosity and profound interpretative insight.
