"Originally released in February 1970, 'Moondance' is a true classic - Van the Man at his absolute best!

Van Morrison followed up his, brilliant, introspective 1968 debut album ('Astral Weeks') with the musically extensive, swinging 'Moondance'. On this album Van and his band totally perfected the arrangements, with more emphasis on the saxophone instead of the guitar, giving the album a more relaxed, jazzy feel.

'Moondance' has many highlights, including the gorgeous, haunting ballad "Crazy Love", the poetic favourite "And It Stoned Me" and very emotional piece, "Caravan". Of course, there is also the fantastic, jazzy title track which works even better in the context of this perfect album.

Morrison's lyrics are outstanding, full of heart and soul, and gel perfectly with the beautiful music. The moods created on 'Moondance' are many-fold and it still sounds as fresh, innovative and engaging as it did when it was released, over four decades ago."
