"the beauty of Feuermann's playing impresses mightily." Audiophile Audition (Robert Moon), May, 2000
"The Haydn is a much more 'romantic' interpretation than one hears today, with the tempos slower and the melodic line more prominent. Regardless of your preference in these matters, the beauty of Feuermann's playing impresses mightily. The Dvorak is an altogether different matter: tempos are faster than most recordings of this work. The first movement is over two minutes faster than Piatigorskys 1946 recording with Ormandy and three minutes faster than Starker's Mercury recording. But it doesn't sound too fast; as a matter of fact Feuermann's soulful playing balances profundity with rapidity."
