Rubble

Káren Hunter (Kaaren) has mined the musical debris and lyrical sediment of the likes of Tom Waits and Rickie Lee while assembling her fourth solo album 'Rubble'. The twelve rootsy tunes here reflect Hunter's healthy sense of humour and keen eye for the ironic side of New Zealand life.

It's been a very different approach to creating an album for Hunter and many musicians have contributed to the work which features a dirty jazz / blues rhythm section and a barrage of horns and 'found' percussion to embellish the songs.

Described by the New Zealand Herald as "a dynamite guitarist with one of the most sensual voices in the country", Auckland's Karen Hunter performs original songs which range in style from sweet melodic jazz to funky acoustic grooves.

Hunter has created a name for herself in New Zealand with high quality performances. Hunter both teaches in Auckland both privately and at MAINZ, specialising in guitar and voice for performance.
